Big Ass Glass

I have a Soccer game at Quinnipiac University to shoot on Saturday, so I rented the Sigma 150-600m Sport zoom lens from Lensrentals.com.  For an $1800 lens, I rented it for the whole weekend for $130.  It's not something I would want to own as I use the big zooms only a couple of times a year, but renting it is an awesome option.  I got turned on to Lensrentals.com from Jared Polin, aka FroKnowsPhoto.com.

I've rented the 300mm f/4 before on a crop sensor body to shoot Lacrosse and it worked out very well.  On the full frame, I knew that I'd need some more reach and I wanted the flexibility of zoom because I don't know where I'll be on the field, or even how far away I'm going to be.  I'll start with it on the 5D Mark IV, but I'm also bringing the 7D Mark II just in case I need super-duper zoom.

This is my first time with a non-Canon lens, we'll see how it goes.  I'm keeping the 70-200 in the bag just in case.  Yes, I will have a monopod.

Look for pictures Sunday.
