Cape Hatteras Lighthouse

Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse in the country.  Curituck Beach Light, Bodie Island Light, and Cape Lookout Light are all based on the same design, but because Cape Hatteras Light is on a pedestal, it is the tallest.

This lighthouse moved 2900 feet from a vulnerable position to a safer position inland in 1999.
