I recently picked up a Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-f/5.6. While I’d prefer the f/2.8 300mm, I didn’t want to drop > $2000 for something I was going to use a few times a year.

I rented a copy of this lens in 2016 for a graduation. I have always wanted to get more reach than my 70-200 f/2.8 can give me at times. Now seemed like a perfect time.

The photo below is at 400mm & f/5.6. I think the background is blown out pretty good.
