Rosecliff

Rosecliff was not decorated for the holidays. It is the primary venue for weddings if you want to get married in one of the mansions under control of the Preservation Society of Newport County. When Rosecliff was built, it had the biggest ballroom in Newport and threw many lavish parties. Today some of the rooms are in the same condition as they were at the turn of the century, but the main ballroom is just a floor waiting for wedding tables and chairs. When we were there (a Saturday Morning), they just had a wedding Friday night and broke it down by 2AM to open the mansion to visitors by 9am. At 2pm they would close again for a Saturday night wedding!
