NYBG Roses - Day 1

The Roses are in full bloom at the New York Botanical Gardens.  While it was an overcast day, I managed to snap a few photos.

I usually pick a theme for my blog entries, but I am just going to do three days of pretty things.

I took the Canon 5D Mark IV, 70-200 f/2.8, and the 50mm 1.4.  I didn't want to haul my whole arsenal around, so I made some compromises with the gear I brought.  I had a couple shots that could have been wider,  but it worked out OK anyway.

This is a panoramic photo that I stitched together from 5 different photos.  I used Lightroom to do the stitching and then cropped it down to what you see here.  The resulting file was 750MB!

1/200th of a second, f/4.5, ISO 100 @123mm.

I had several nice photos of the Allium, but this one had a bee! 1/200th, f/4.5, ISO 100 @200mm.

Another bee buzzing around the roses.  This one has been hitting the pollen pretty heavy.  1/200th, f/4.5, ISO 100, 200mm.

Bunny hiding in the garden.  I was at 1/100th, f/4.5, 100 ISO @ 70mm, but I had to bring it up 1 stop in Lightroom and then pull back the shadows so you could see him.

Color looks almost artificial.  Other than a couple adjustments in contrast, this is what it looked like.  1/320th, f/4.5, ISO 100 @ 160mm.

This one had a much deeper hue of purple in person.  1/125th, f/4.5, ISO 100, 185mm.

I am not 100% happy with this one, the color is off or something.  But it's a beautiful group.  1/640th, f/4.0, ISO 100, 160mm.
